In May of 2006, I heard J speak to me quite suddenly and entirely unexpectedly! On the first day we talked, he told me among other things that we were going to write a book together. Two years later, he made it very clear that the time had come to begin the book!
He asked me to write this book with a relaxed, conversational style, as if the readers and I are chatting together in someone’s living room perhaps at an ACIM group meeting. J wanted something available to people that is a bit different from books which attempt to analyze the Course intellectually, and I believe this book fulfills his request. Additionally, it is unique in that it truly recognizes Jesus, our brother, as our Teacher - not metaphorically or symbolicaly - but quite literally!! As J says to me, "Where else would I be?" Of course he's here - literally.
It adheres very closely and directly to his teachings and specific words, never trying to teach over him. However, alongside Jesus' words are plentiful examples of my experiences of his very real presence in my life, which help people relate to ACIM concepts quite personally. Through the sharing of my experiences and my recognition of Jesus' reality, it is my deep hope that people will increasingly allow him in as their Guide, Teacher, and Friend. He is here, alive and well, in the most literal of ways, and I hope my words succeed in demonstrating that fact.
The book is ten chapters in length (about 278 pages) and walks gently through many of the Course basics, culminating in the last chapter, which alludes to the title, “Love Remembered”, in which revelation and union are discussed in detail. Some of the sharing about revelation is highly personal, as it relates closely to the sexual experience we know as our attempts to join with one another. However, it is certainly nothing shameful - to the contrary, it is Love Remembered and in need of open discussion. I hope you will enjoy!
